The employer roadmap from November 2026 into 2027: what is coming and the trends that will shape the year ahead

October 2026 brought longer tribunal time limits, a stronger harassment duty, new trade union rights and a fresh Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules. The months ahead are just as significant.

Earned settlement in October 2026: what sponsors know, what they do not, and how to plan

The proposal to move most settlement routes from a five year to a ten year baseline has been discussed since the Immigration White Paper of May 2025. For employers with sponsored workers approaching Indefinite Leave to Remain, the uncertainty is now a practical workforce issue.

From 30 October, “reasonable steps” becomes “all reasonable steps”: what the strengthened harassment duty means for employers

Since October 2024, employers have had a positive duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their workers. From 30 October 2026, the Employment Rights Act 2025 raises that standard.

Can a sponsored dentist be self- employed?

A common question for dental practices holding a sponsor licence is whether a dentist sponsored under the Skilled Worker route must be employed through PAYE, or whether they can instead work

Multi-Factor Authentication Introduced for Sponsor Management System Users

The Home Office has begun introducing mandatory multi-factor authentication (MFA) for users of the Sponsorship Management System (SMS).

Most sponsor licence failures do not start with an audit. They start six months earlier, in payroll.

The Home Office does not need to visit your premises to identify salary compliance failures. Through data-sharing with HMRC, it can identify discrepancies between the salary declared on a Certificate of Sponsorship and the wages actually paid, without prior notice and without a compliance visit.

I was so pleased to have worked with Vandana Dass at Davenport Solicitors during my Global Talent visa application in the arts category. From the outs...et, Vandana demonstrated a deep understanding of both the visa criteria and the nuances involved in presenting an artist’s profile effectively. What stood out most was her ability to translate my work and achievements into a compelling, well-structured application that clearly met the endorsement requirements. She was meticulous in reviewing my portfolio, advising on supporting evidence, and ensuring that every document strengthened my case. Throughout the process, Vandana was consistently responsive, patient, and reassuring. The Global Talent route can feel overwhelming, but her clarity and strategic guidance made each step manageable. She anticipated potential issues before they arose and provided practical solutions, which gave me a great deal of confidence. Thanks to her expertise and support, my application was successful. I would highly recommend Vandana to any artist seeking a Global Talent visa, her professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine commitment to her clients truly set her apart.
